I also say to do it. If you have solder and an iron,
you could do it yourself. The brushes cost me $.80,
with the springs, but they weren't an exact fit. Just
file or belt sand or whatever the brush till it fits
the holder. The hardest part was getting the crimped
ferrules off as they are soldered also. I spent a few
minutes saving these the first time. Later I just cut
them off and cleaned the area, as you have new tails
on the new brushes. A small package of uninsulated
barrel crimps (10-12) is about a buck at Radio Shack.
Do one side at a time and just match the other side.
It's really easy. 1/2 to 1 hr maybe and $3.00.
