Rim decoding

I have an opportunity to get a "new", used set of rims and tires for my '97
Passat TDI for a good price. The rims are "Cheviot" and look like BBS
knockoffs, and look similar to the rims on a '91 200 quattro (mandatory Audi
content). The stock steel rims are stamped 6Jx14 and have 195/64R14
Goodyear Eagle GA tires that are *brand new*. The rims are stamped 6JJx14
and have slightly worn 195/60R14 BFGoodrich Comp TAs. The newer rims bolt
onto the hubs with no problem. The question is, do this rims have the
correct offset so it doesn't mess up the steering geometry, rub the wheel
wells, etc.? Next question - leave the tires "as is" or swap them between
rims, etc?

Thanks in advance. You guys haven't steered me wrong yet! Pun intended :)
