A6 Outside Temperature Gauge Backlight

I have the  same problem with my 95A6QAvant. The dash unit pulls out
after removing 3 bolts on the bottom of the unit. (I think you have to
remove the trim piece that is blocking it.-I'm at work now).  Audi says
you need to replace the whole unit for about $125 but you can open it up
and solder in a new bulb. I know a mechanic who does this (Greg at
AutoFirme 845-373-0170) and is doing it on my car as we speak.  Where
are you located?
