No, it's not too hard to match.

If the scratch is really deep, you hve to fill it with several layers of 
paint. Shake the touch up paint can very well, this determines the accuracy 
of the match. Also make sure to remove all but a little paint from the 
brush, as too much paint at once is a common mistake.
Build it up until it's slightly higher than the surrounding paintwork, then 
(after letting it dry) use rubbing compound (the mild abrasive type) to 
make it flush with the paintwork again. Then use a thin layer of clearcoat, 
which you also rub down with rubbing compound.
If you've never done this before, practice on a less visible spot.

It takes a lot of work for a perfect repair...
