Flakey 4kq odometer

Last week, my car went 100,000 miles in 1 day....Well, not really, but where 
it used to say 130k miles, the "1" started rolling forward and by the end of 
my commute, it had changed to a "2".  I kept an eye on the odometer and the 
numbers went by as normal, but my commute is only 12 miles one way and the 
hundred thousands digit would turn before the ten thousands digit.  Any 
ideas?  I want to keep the cars mileage as original as possible, so any help 
is much appreciated.
