i completely agree javad that my suck it and see approach isnt the correct
way of doing things, but it has so far transformed from almost undrivable to
better than the car has ever driven before (and i was very satisfied with
its previous smooth running operation). but unfortunately to limited funds
and the fact that it cost me about 7 pounds worth of petrol to do 10 miles
on thursday night it needed sorting. i do have a lot of experience with
2stroke carburation so i am happy to make basic adjustments with the system.
i was certain that the mixture was extremely rich throughout the range due
to my tinkering, undoubtedly within the next few weeks i will take the car
to a professional, but they will only set the car up to factory specs, it
will not be dynoed and tuned so i begrudge spending £100 plus, when the car
cost me £350 10 months ago... ive spent £250 on it through choice, not
necessity (bar the clutch). so id rather fiddle and learn by my mistakes or
advice from the list.
