Dear Sirs,
Judging by the replies I received to my first letter regarding disabling the
"INSP" message in the odometer slot of my '98 A4 1.8T............. it would
seem that there is alot of inner hostility in many of you toward your local
Audi dealers!! :)
To clarify....... my dealer has done an outstanding job with all the service
for my car. I originally took the car in because the "OIL" message was
flashing in the odometer slot......... but since I lived far away, they
decided to do all the servicing for the 30,000 mile interval too. To my
surprise, the "INSP" message began to flash less than 200 miles later. I am
assuming that this message is simply mileage related somehow and doesn't
concern an actual fault within my cars mechanical systems?
Anyway...... I just simply don't want to drive to the dealer, leave my car
for the night, get a loaner, and then go all the way back again the next
day......... just to have the message disabled if I can do it myself! ;)
(my older Honda just required the insertion of the ignition key into a slot
to reset the message)
