newkid questions vol 2:

i've been holding off on "real" repairs until i get a bentley, in the
meantime ive been dealing with the minor stuff...

first thing - anyone have any tips for getting the sunroof to close in less
than 5 minutes on an 88 5k? Do the motors get slow / need replacing? grounds
go bad? tracks need lubing (if so, what's best to use) ? it starts out
slow, then gets REALLY slow about 1/2way closed. This has no doubt been
asked a zillion times buti didnt have a whole lot of luck with the archives.
THANKS!

also, ive begun the task of swapping my stereo from the old to the new (old)
car. i pulled the broken alpine that came with, and unearthed a "rats
nest". i would like to use a tuner/cd that i have in its place, but it is
preamp only - ie no watts only volts. I'm wondering if i can use this with
the factory 10-spkr audi system?

the 5k has 2 dash, 4 front door, 2 rear door and 2 rear shelf speakers. i
see an amp under the rear shelf, does the rest of the system use discrete
outboard amp's, or some combo of head power and outboard amps? if so, where
are the other amp's and which speakers do they power? i'm hoping the list
can save me some hunting time. i so prefer going into these things informed.

and while im at it, an observation: it would almost be worht the price of a
new car just to know that noone's EVER used a t-tap, scotch-lok, home wiring
twist-cap (the WORST) or the dreaded twist and tape under the dash. maybe
i'm just drawn to used cars owned by people with no concept of proper
connection methods in an automotive environment. say la vee.

Thanks again, feel free to em me direct or list-it-up.

jim
