type 44 rust - solution?

My type 44 has pesky spots of bare zinc coated metal just behind the front
wheels.  The undercoating is peeling there, what I am most worried about
is the peeling factory undercoating creating a trap for crap.  Also, the
little trunk trim area is rusting in the back.  What are the key products
and processes to use to make these area nice again, esp the fender part.
