nitrous or turbo?

Honestly, the best thing you could do if you want a more powerful car, is
sell it a buy a quattro if you want an Audi. FWD doesnt really lend itself
to lots of power and the Audi Turbo FWD cars tended to have lots of torque
steer and problems with the auto trans when power was increased. Depending
on the cash you want to spend, you several Audi options.
1. Buy a 5000/200 (86-90) turbo quattro (stock 165 hp) and for about 400$
you can buy a chip and wastegate and have 220 hp. VERY fun to drive, and
lots of people here have them already, so plenty of help for mod ideas.
2. Buy a 4000 quattro and swap in a turbo motor. Been done here alot as
well, but definatly more work than the 5k/200 option. Makes a great rally
car too.
3. Do the same as #2 to a 80 or 90 quattro. Hasn't been done as much, but
its possible. More work than the 4k swap thou.
4. Buy a 91 200 20v or a Ur-S4. No mods needed thou they are out there and
its quite fast.
If you are really hung up on keeping the car you have. You would have to do
essentially the same thing as #3, as you would have to change the head (or
motor not sure here) to allow for a turbo exhaust manifold and other
assorted items that would change between engines. Nitros on a FWD just isnt
a good idea IMHO.
