Ok,
I guess I didn't realize that Paul T sold the resistor mod.
Anyhow, I already have the Adjustable pressure regulator (just
a small unit from Sears for Air Compressor regulation) that I'm
using. Closed off I get about 8psi with my ur-q spring set in
the middle. Actually about 9psi now as pre tensioning it really
helps low RPM performance and spool up. If I turn the valve
about 3/4 turn then I'm at 14psi and occasionally will hear a
little bit of ping if the IC is heat soaked at all. Like if I
do 2 0-60 runs back to back or get on it for a 0-100 run then
around 100 in 5th it sometimes will start to ping.
But, I'm just running with the FPR cutoff wire bypassed on my
Un modifiable Mac-07. I plan to drop in a Mac-11 that I have.
So, how does this Mod work. Can I use any 470ohm resistor. ANd
where do I solder it in? Is it simple, any temp sensitive
components int here I need to heat sink to protect while
soldering in?
Lastly, this would advance the timing at lower RPM??? Does
anyone know how much. ANd does anyone know the timing maps for
the mac-11? Does SJM have this posted anywhere? Probably not.
How bout how the Mac-14 timing maps vary. I'm running 8.8:1
compression so maybe Mac-14 timing maps would be more
beneficial. I still eventually want SJM to modify an ECU for me
but I'd like to look into this resistor mod.
thanks
Todd
