Hey ya listers:
I just thought I'd drop a line and let you know where various projects on my
GT are at, since just about no one is doing anything to GT's these days, but
some want to. Any questions regarding stuff I'm doing are welcome, just
don't ask how much. :-)
Engine: Just got the cam back, milled head, header and 2.5 inch exhaust going
onto car this week. Chris Semple also has a 20V motor that he has sourced
for me, so the conversion will happen, although later than sooner. It will
be accomplanied by a lightened flywheel, larger clutch, freshened head, and
maybe cams.
Brakes : Staying with the stock units right now, although soon after the 20V
conversion will come 2Bennett Porsche brakes, and probably a reardisc
conversion.
Body: Dialynx is finishing my Sport Quattro Body kit - I believe that I'll
have the only long wheel base sport body in the country. Should be here
before Christmas. I also spoke with a Porsche race car builder, who will be
looking at the aerodynamics of the rear wing, and possibly adding an
adjustable lip to the rear spoiler (a la E30 M3 evolution). Of course, paint
is a must, and probably the car will end up Porsche midnight blue, or a dark
metallic grey, as of yet unspecified.
Wheels : You can never have too many, although I'm going to have to get
Forgelines or something along that line to accomadate the flares of the sport.
Interior: I'm going to get another Kirke race seat, to match, and the car
goes to KRE race cars to get a cage installed this winter...
I'm going to try to document the modifications well, so that I can either
reproduce some of the work done ot the car, or instruct others on how to do
so. Should be interesting next year, car should scoot! Any Q's, feel free.
Thanks!
