All info and specs have been taken from the latest VW Power (VW Trends) issue
which has a fall of '00 release date. The company responsible for the upgrade
is ABT/AMS.

If we take a 1.8T New Beetle stock hp is rated at about 150 w/ max stock
boost running at about 0.6 to 0.7 bar.

Add a ABD chip and itg filter for an output of 193hp @ 0.8 bar boost. (stage
1)

Next, just change the rear muffler and up the boost to 1 bar for 215hp (stage
2)

Finally, add to the picture a bigger exhaust system, upgrade the turbo to
k04, install a sport intercooler and up the max boost to 1.3 bar, then you
have a dyno tested 235hp 1.8T drive by wire engine.....(stage 3).
This is on a 2000 1.8T New Beetle. Of course the jetta/golf , A4, TT
would have slight variances in engine setup and plumbing but the general idea
has been presented.
