Audifans:
I bought Mike Burke's 1986 4000csq rally car. I've most bought it for a
stay in Detroit this past summer while I work as a law clerk. So, believe
it or not, I commuted 150 miles in it. I also wanted to find out if I
wanted to rally. I've found that I do not have the time..:>( As a result,
I'm offering it for sale. It's clean and pretty fast. No wrecks, etc.
Here's a list of things have been done to it.
1> Motor has three rallies on it since a complete rebuild. Same for clutch.
Motor has about 140hp, 10:0 to 1 pistons
2> Brakes are stock units with braided lines.
3> The two sub-frames that hold the trans and rear end have both been
rebushed when car was built
4> Suspension is of my (Mike's) own creation. A non adjustable coil over is
used with
tokico inserts.
5> stock fuel tank is used. it's in the trunk.
6> Battery is also reallocated to the trunk.
7> The cage was professionally built. It is not tied to the front strut
towers however.
8> Seats are stock Audi units.
9> The computer is an Alpha Pro box. It uses the Audi built in sensor in the
dash pod. Works great!!
Hella Navigation light too!
10> Oil cooler for motor.
11> Lexan rear side windows. The front side windows have power winders. Good
for handing cards at controls
12> I use 14" Michelins M4 and M5's. The wheels are off of the 5000s Audi.
There are several wheel options. This can be negotiated.
13> T6 Aluminum skid plate. Protects front part of trans also. A smaller
version under rear Diff.
14> all A-arms re-enforced with steal strips and welds. Never any failures.
15> BMW headlight pods are used for the car lights with optional Hella H1
and H4s. Aux.'s are Hella Rally
2000's (2). The stock Audi lights stink! The BMW units are adjustable. They
are 5 1/2 round units (4)
16> Triangles and Medical Kit are there also...it's ready to
race!
