just bought an 87 5000CS 2wd 5spd

Well, I'm back at it after selling my 86 5kt slusher.
The auto tranny sucked from day one and I loathed the thought of doing a
conversion.  I sold the car to a friend for a good price, making him aware
of all the Audi quirks.
I moved on to a Merkur, and my daily driver turbo Rabbit pickup.
In the back of my mind I always wanted to get back into an Audi, like an 80
w/MC conversion, etc...

The local newspaper had the ad for an 87 5kt 2wd 5spd.  Had to check it out.
It turned out to be a really nice example that was well maintained.  The
owner was much like me, with a history of VW ownership.
Well, I drove the car and it was really nice with the 5spd.  Made my autobox
look really bad.  I bought it for 1100 bucks.  125k miles, new master cyl,
hydro hoses, rack, radiator, etc.  Not saying I stole it, but this car is
really nice, paint/interior, etc.

So, I guess what I am saying is I'm back with an Audi, the Merkur is
probably for sale.

Time for a 3 inch exhaust and 1.8bar. :)
