2.3L NF ??????

Can anyone please shed some light on my dilemma? I discovered today that my
$500. '87 5000s Avant non-turbo/auto trans, has a 2.3 litre NF? engine. I
have never heard of this one, just 2.2L either turbo or non turbo. It looks
the same from first look under the hood as others, but the fuel distributor
looks different. Not banjo fittings for lines, just flat flared fittings. I
think it's shot. The car won't go over 3000rpm and does a no start after
being run a while, although the pressure gauge says its fine. A new one from
THE WIZARD OF AUD is over a grand. If anyone has one hanging around, let's
talk quick. I would like to finish this for my wife before the snow flies.
