Fuel pumps and new lines

Well, I just ordered the new rebuilt fuel pump for my 87 4kcsq. Now I just
know that when I put the wrench to the fuel fittings I'm going to break the
fuel line running to the fuel distributor (Murphy's Law). The local parts
place that is getting me the pump can't get the fuel lines. Any suggestions?
Do I need to use an Audi line or are there other alternatives. Specifically
I'm talking about the line that goes from the front fuel filter to the fuel
distributor.
