won't start

i just spent too much time trying to find a no start problem on the dil's 5ks. fuel pressure good , cold start valve works , spark, no vac leaks. once in a while it would start and run well, other times it would start and run roughly with backfiring into the intake..... after much hair pulling it turned out to be the ignition switch....and then i remembered the heavy key ring(she left me only a single key) which according to the archives is a no no. i replaced the blasted switch which is not difficult, and it now starts promptly every time. after replacing the switch i dismantled the old switch and all of the contacts were blackened and cooked.
