Computer security - NAC

Hi Y'all,

Please pardon the potential WOB but I have come across some things which 
might potentially be of interest to many list members.

I just ran across a web site which will do a quick scan of your computer's 
internet connection to determine how secure your computer is to hacker 
attack.  Since my computer is attached to the web via an always on cable 
modem connection it is potentially very vulnerable to hacker attack.

Recently I downloaded and installed ZoneAlarm from Zone Labs.  This is a 
freeware software firewall for Windoze.  I just got a report from Shields 
Up! from Gibson Research Corp.  It reports that my computer is highly 
secure.  Apparently ZoneAlarm is working fairly well.

All this is freeware.  If you are concerned over potential vulnerability 
then this may be a way for you to achieve some level of security.  If 
anyone would like some URLs, lemme know.
