If you do decide to use Zone Alarm, there are two versions at
http://www.zonelabs.com .  Make sure you download the "plain vanilla"
ZA, not ZA Pro - which does cost (big whoop $40.).  Big difference
between the two is "Pro" version is much more LAN savy and
configurable.  For a single system the "plain vanilla" freeware is fine.
