distributer noise

I have a funny noise that I won't venture to say is a problem on my 88 
5ktq.  When started i used to think that I had the rear seal engine sqeal
thing going on.  But the other day when trying to get my sleeves caught in
the belts, (hood up engine on)  I opened the throttle body.  I heard the
noise.  I held the distributer and it dampened the vibration a bit.  Is
there a such thing as worn out dist. bushings out something?  May it is
just dry.  Car has 176k.

I think I've been spelling distributer wrong...maybe not. Oh well.
