The engine is primarily fueled during the start sequence by residual
pressure in the fuel injection system. If this leaks down (common)
the car becomes relatively hard to start but the cold start valve
should just manage it.
What kind of spark? Just once and thin doesn't count - it has to be
fat and on every revolution.
