All the way to launch (I was peripheral to the development programme at
Porsche Weissach) the 'Syncro' was called the 'tetra'. Somewhere I have
a pre-launch version of the first Passat 'tetra' brochure. They switched
to 'syncro' only days before the launch.

Spelling things correctly is actually quite important because of the
archives. I don't know if Dan/Brett plan to implement synonym tables
in the search engine, but if they have no such plans then 'Synchro'
just won't be found by a correct search on 'syncro'. Also, anyone
making the other mistake and searching on 'Synchro' should really
get zero hits - if they get just a few, they may assume the archives
contains no useful information, which is not the case.
