I think I own one of the rarest Type 44s on the planet.

1990 100TQW RHD. With 1.85 bar, courtesy of Scott Mockry.

The story is that Audi canned the 200TQ/TQW in the UK in 1990, replacing
it with the V8Q. They never built a V8QW, though - and some people had
placed orders in advance for turbo wagons. So a limited number (some
say as few as FIVE!) of RHD 100 turbo quattro Avants was built. I've
found two others (one is a club member) and all are red and were
imported via Gilders in Yorkshire. All are stick shift.

In many ways, it's a 200. Eyebrow dashboard with extra instruments,
air conditioning - almost unknown in 100s over here, ABS, MC-2 engine,
total closure, electric everything except for the seats. It also has
a very discreet but exceptionally good Italian alarm system, which
I believe was developed for one of their supercars.

It deliberately looks like a PoS. I never wash it (except the engine
bay - I spend a lot of time there) and it bears a 'diesel' badge on the
rear flap. The only giveaways are the 'quattro' script in the tailgate
screen heater and the exhaust pipe. The interior is always untidy.
Anyone wanting a digital snap should send me a private email.

Doesn't half shift. I've had 152 mph on the dial but I ran out of road.
