1996 A4 2.8 quattro fuel filter location???

I haven't looked yet ,  Is the fuel filter under the car or in the
hood???  I just bought a new one and I'm not sure where it is located,
I thought I'd ask the list to save me some time.        Is it a messy
job replacing it????

I have 41K on my car and I figured it's about do for the winter.

Also I want to change the anti-freeze.  what kind is recommended and
where would I get it????
have to get going on winterization of my cars....
