Luckily mine are separated. I have been using an old light switch fooler. By
this I mean it is an old light switch with a piece of wire soldered across
the 4 contact points and a few drops os solder connecting the metal plates at
the end of the switch. This fools the headlights and tailights into thinking
they are switched on. I have to unplus this contraption everytime I want my
lights off. So I assume all I will need is the switch at this point.
