Sorry for the waste of bandwidth. While I was building my house for the last
year, I was lucky enough to have rented a house next to a guy that has one
of the most original Shelby 500KR's in existence. 428CJ, 62K miles, doctor
owned until '91.Yes, I have been taken for a ride in it. If you LOOK at the
gas pedal, the tires are smoking. What an amazing example of 'murcan
"straight line" technology, and yes, what an intoxicating thing it is. You
just have to appreciate the simplicity of an avenue drag race. That what was
what these cars were meant for, and that was what what they did very well.
The guy who won, in most cases, got the chick. I think I was born about six
years too late...........damn!
The other thing - you just have to love the smell of an original vintage
vehicle. Some people do not like this, but for me that is the "essence" of
originality. This car sounded right, felt right (eyeballs rolling back), and
smelt right. Lucky me. Again, sorry for the BTW.
