That is completely true, the W12 is two VR6s joined together. But this isn't the
first time VW/Audi pulled this stunt and got away with it. Ya'll remember the
1989 Audi V8? That engine was two Jetta 1,8s joined together, bore and stroke
being identical. Not only bore and stroke, but also cylinder spacing is
identical.
And this isn't all. VW made another engine. The W18 shown in the Bugatti a
couple years ago. This engine is 6 VW Polo 1,0 3-cylinder engines put together,
2 in the length, 3 in the width, with bore and stroke and even cylinder spacing
still being the same.
Makes my 2,8 look small and weak :-(
