Bullcrap
I just replaced a rear caliper, 2 flexible hoses and 1 8" brake line on my
200q. I bled the brakes on my own with a $6 kit. It is a container with lid,
a tube and 3 fittings of various sizes.
I think the secret of the job is to mount the container higher than the
bleed nipple and to JUST crack open the nipple, not the 1 turn + that
directions usually tell you to do. Then you pump the pedal SLOWLY with full
strokes and keep an eye on the reservoir and the container. The stuff I got
out did not compare to the DOT 4 I was putting in !!!
ABS has nothing to do with this procedure apart from the fact that the fluid
has a more convoluted route to the pistons.
