Just got off the phone with Phil McCray, Director & Curator of the
Watkins Glen Motor Racing Research Library, the auction held last night
to
open the Vintage weekend was a huge success. The raffle for the 2001
996
cab is a success as well and the drawing will be held on Monday as
planned -
still time to get your ticket, call 607-535-9044 or go to their web site
at
http://www.racingarchives.org for more information.
The library is a good project and well worth a visit when your at the

Glen. It is becomming a world class respository of racing information
and a
wonderful place to research motor racing history. For to long, there
was no
central place to store BTW, they are always looking for historical
stuff, so
when your cleaning out your attic, garage, basement ,trunk, glovebox,
whatever, keep them in mind. Historical items like books, programs,
posters, movies, pictures, models, etc are always welcome and stuff from
the
South and West as well as from other countries are most welcome, since
people from these areas don't get there as often and don't know the
library
exists. Pass the word and keep this place growing, it's to all our
benefit
not to let the historical items end up in the trash.
For those that know the Glen this will not be a big surprise, it is
pouring raining. Bet the folks in the vintage F1 cars are having fun.
