strange groaning sounds coming from new A4 1.8T Avant ...

Hi All,
    We have just purchased a new 2001 A4 Avant 1.8T (with sprot package) and we
have
noticed a strange groaning sound coming from the rear of the car. We took it to
the dealers
but they could not identify the problem and said it was probably nothing.

The sound occurs usually at low speeds as acceleration is applied, I believe
that the problem
is therefore either a suspension component or is some resonance effect in the
exhaust, has anyone
else had similar experiences, and if so did oyu locate the culprit?
