I took my pristine 16" S4 OEM wheels into a local tire shop to have the new
Dunlop SP9000's mounted. This place isn't your local Sears tire outlet, it's
one of the local heavy equipment tire outlets - transports, skidders,
Euclids, that kind of delicate stuff.
The guy that put the tires on handled those wheels like they were eggs. He
cleaned up his tire machine, got out a teflon rider for the arm, very gently
set the rims on the machine, set up the machine with each rim so that the
arm did not touch the rim at all, and used the machine that clamped the edge
of the rim, not the inside of the wheel.
"Nice wheels", he said. "I really like this kind of stuff". Then he went
back to the job I interrupted - changing 18 tires on a transport.
I couldn't have been more pleased. Not all are "monkey lads".
