I can take a guess that the fact that these cars are way popular in Japan
and other asian countries is a fact that many of them ends up in the UK.
Asia has RHD just like UK so there are hardly any problems with
compatibility. No German or Norwegian or other European with a sane mind
likes to drive around in a RHD car, no to mention the fact that the value on
a RHD car is really low on the mainland Europe. No one wants them, no matter
what make. Not even a RHD Sub Impreza 22b which is one of the rawest rally
street cars since the Sportquattro. The Sub 22b is only built as RHD AFAIK.

A Norwegian online magazine had a test of two HP cars, the Audi S3 vs. the
Sub Impreza GT Turbo. Their verdict was: the Sub is a car made for tight
winding forest roads, the S3 is an Autobahn cruiser par excellence! Their
favorite: The Sub. It's my favorite also!
