The dealers wouldn't be selling "Mann" filters, even though they
may actually be manufactured by Mann. They sell "real" OEM filters
with VW/Audi logos printed on them. Thus, it's not surprising that
the dealer parts guy may not know what you're talking about when you
say "Mann filter". Their eyes light up when you give them a good
VAG part number.
Some of the dealers may source parts from the aftermarket and actually
give you Mann or Mahle branded filters, both of them are OEMs.
And yes, Mann is a good filter to use on your 4Kq, and it's the same
one for the Jetta GL.
