        Yes they did and No....        ... they were worse, even more so
than the Renault Alliance that was NOT a french import, but a Nissan, North
American ONLY, original.
    Actually the Lada did hold up in the cold weather here better than alot
of more expensive cars at the time (Not saying much on Detroit's quality).
The pony, which my diluded father bought brand new contrary to my
suggestions, was in the same shape after it's first year on the road as my
89 jetta is now. (VAG RULES)
