Tire Sizes, was [urq] RE: Roanl paint codes/colors`

I'm running 205/55 15 Bridgestone RE71's on my '83 Urq.. Very nice on the
dry and OK on wet as long as there are not much standing water. Ride is
harsh but my springs are a contributing factor to that problem. I prefer
Yoko AVS intermediates. Outstanding in the wet and dry. (Don't even THINK
of using these in snow). I had the Yoko's in 205/60 15, the stock size, but
with 7" BBS Modas they rubbed on the wheel wells with more than two people
in the car. This is most likely due to the fact that my car has Eibach
Springs that were put on by Abt in the '80s. (I would stick with stock
springs in the future and just move to Bilstein Shocks if your car is
intended for street use.) According to my calculations 205/60 15's and
215/50 15's do not have the same circumference so I don't see how they can
both give the correct speedo reading. 215/50's would give you an optimistic
speedo.

P.S. If you plan to stay ahead of 5.0 Mustangs you better be on a wet,
curvey road. My '74 911 is much quicker off the line than the Urq. Of
course this could be due to the lack of bottom end performance with the
Schrick cam from Abt (thanks again!).

A little advice, if you still have the stock wiring for your Radiator
cooling fan running through your fuse box, rewire it with a direct wire
coming off the battery with an inline 25 amp fuse. See
http://www.tiac.net/users/rdh/http/Urq/index.htm for details on why and
how... Very Important.

I just got a set of avs intermediates in the 225/50/15 size, for my UrQ. All
I can say at this point is that they fit w/o rubbing.

Can someone tell me where to get a rear tie rod for a good price? (urq)
