Short Shift Kit

I can not comment on the Type 44's, however I did order the kit for the 4000/Ur-q.

Here is what the *kit* contained:
	
	1 	bushing, semi-sphere, with a slot cut out of it.
	1	One time use of poly grease
	1	Booklet on modifications needed to perform the install (5 pages!) with pictures and assorted diagrams.

I have yet to install this kit in my 84 4kq, so I can no comment on the actual reduction of the *throw* (distance from 1st to 2nd), the kit is claiming a 2" reduction, however makes no mention of a reduction in side to side reduction.  In most shift kits there is a ratio of reduction, otherwise the shift pattern becomes a little awkward.  

I can say that the install did call for the cutting of length of the shifter, however it was not the 2" =)  it did however have information about cutting the top something like 7/8", and installing the bushing in place of the stock shifter bushing, and recommended replacing ALL of the existing bushing in the shifter during the install (Hence why I am waiting to do the install, until the parts come in).
