Astoundingly, the people I know with empty tanks are quite
happy to face personal hardship.

But that's my whole point.  The media is making this out to be
all about fuel supplies and just a handful of blockading
drivers.  It isn't - the motorway blockade today involved tens
if not hundreds of thousands of drivers - car, van and truck in
equal measure.  Hundreds of miles (literally) of vehicles
drawn up in the sunshine and not a word raised in anger.
Some agency or other is trying to conceal the true extent of
public feeling - dumb, in this day and age, or what?
