Too right. I'm lucky enough to be able to work from home when I my tank is
empty so its not too bad.
There are a couple of things that are annoying me though:
1. The number of people with cars that now have full tanks for the first
time since they were made. One woman who lives not far from me who to my
knowledge has never, ever, put more than 2 gallons of fuel in her car now
has 10 gallons in it - enough to last her more than 3 months, whilst my
next-door neighbours (a prison officer and a health visitor) had to attend a
filling station tonight where they were allowed to half-fill their tanks
under
police supervision.
2. The attitude of our Prime Minister (or should I call him the Leader of
the Opposition Elect?) during his press conferences. If I see that d*mn
silly grim once more I won't be responsible for my actions. Using a phase
like 'everything will be getting back to normal with 24 hours' was just
asking for trouble. One report last night said that he had 'ordered' the
petrol distribution companies to get supplies moving again. I don't know
about anybody else, but being ordered to do something gives me an urge to do
exactly the opposite.
