Audi vs. Subaru

As I recall, the original AWD system on Legacys and Imprezas used a mechanical system for the stick cars, and an electronically sensed one for the autoboxes, which the brouchure seemed to claim was more sophisticated. Having driven both, I'd say the manual system is more transparent (but not as good a Q!) and the autobox one works as I described below. Having also driven both my 5 sp 200, and my friend's A6 Q2, I'd say there is no diff between how they drive. I won't go into a comparison of my 200 and my 4KQ to avoid the "T" threads.

Makes me wonder if they are still using a seperate system for the slushbox
vs. stick. I believe the old system used two seperate types of AWD
depending on the transmission type.

In the same article, they also say that this new (currently with the H-6
only, eventually throughout the line) system is the first system by Subaru
that approaches the transparancy of the quattro system. Basically all the
others are ON the OLD system. So I think my perception stands.
