Xenon headlights ($470 for a pair..make your own)

I think we're just on different levels here. $900 on lights...$1300... 
whatever, I bought my car for $500! If we're talking about a $40k car then 
that's fine, but I doubt most 5k owners would want to spend $900-$1300 on 
lights. They could use a small chunk of that for a new rack, suspension, or 
in my case an engine!

Also, don't other motorist [oncoming traffic] have any say in this? Don't 
you think if you can see all 5 lanes that it will be very distracting on 
some windy road in the countryside? With everyone installing illegal 
lights, pretty soon they'll start checking this at inspection or maybe 
they'll even pull you over for this. We Americans don't believe in all that 
euro stuff...that's why they still have the metric system, and look where 
that's got them! [being a little sarcastic here...] I mean if we didn't 
have such regulations, we wouldn't have to buy new lenses for 900 and 1300 
bucks.
