Tires... since we are on the subject

I have been had two sets of Michelin (now Pilot) XGT V-4s on my 91
200-20V and find them quite satisfactory for all purposes, including
track time. I tried some Yokos AVID S-4 or something and though I
could beat a Corvette (early C-4) at the track on them, I did not
like them as well as the Michelins. They are good enough in cold dry
snow in the rockies that the only times I've had problems were when I
high centered, and nothing can help that (except maybe some smarts).
They are also quiet, and good in the rain (don't aquaplane much).
Nevertheless, if you want the best for real winter conditions, go for
the Blizzaks. Those who have serious winter don't mess with anything
else. You might also go for a narrower section, 70 instead of 60
series. It increases the pressure and thereby the grip on soft stuff.
