Ur-q water leak

Removed the timing belt covers this morning in an attempt to locate the
source of my water leak. As soon as I pulled the water pump forwards so that
there was clearance for the rear cover a piece of the water pump seal approx
1" long dropped out. Don't understand how it could have split, so I guess
that its down to me when I fitted it.

There is a VIN break on the water pump at J900643 so when I replaced the
pump I got the earlier one (VIN J900631) which came complete with a seal.
There are two seals listed, 98x4 and 98x5 but doesn't specify which is for
which pump. Of course, its Sunday so there's nowhere that I can get one
today so it looks like I'll have to mow the lawn.......
