more q-list run-on jibberish

I have recently experienced this identical problem. It usually
occurred when a post was in multipart MIME format. The first
part would come through OK but apparently some appended
control characters would then come through, which the digest
mail server no longer filters out, and reconfigure my mail program,
yank all the line separators and create a solid block
of undifferentiated crap. It was a very repeatable fault.

This started happening to me when I upgraded my
Eudora Pro e-mailer from ancient to to 4.0. This stopped
happening when I further upgraded to 4.2. (I couldn't find 4.3
lying around which would have allowed me to download
version 5.0 from http://www.eudora.com/ ).

Since this phenomenon is new to you and your mailer - people
have frequently not bothered to disable the multipart MIME
or HTML crappola in their mailers - I think a switch got toggled
in the server software to disable some sort of digest filtering
process. In other words, the digest contains a lot more than
simple text these days. It may be you can solve it yourself
by upgrading your e-mail software to one than can tolerate
the added interference from garbage characters. Or maybe
your mailer has it's own filter setting for this. HTH.
