Saturday night I was driving through beautiful Chicago in the rain, turned
into a parking lot, didn't notice the divider in the entrance, big tall
concrete thing, bang, bang, and all of a sudden i have to hold my wheel at
45 degrees off center to go straight. Today I took my 89 90q to NTB then
Sears to get an alignment, NTB had noone qualified on hand, and Sears told
me that I either destroyed my control arm or bent my frame. The car doesn't
wobble and seems to be steering well except for the wheel not wanting to
come back to center when I let go. I NEED to take my car somewhere that can
help me ASAP as this is my only car. I'm located in Evanston IL, north side
of Chicago and work in Glenview, near McGrath Audi dealership. I really
want to avoid the dealership if at all possible, but they may be the best
place to at least diagnose the problem unless someone on the list can
suggest somewhere better, nicer, more knowledgeable, cheaper, with a shorter
waiting list, etc.
ANY help, suggestions, etc. would be greatly appreciated.
TIA
