Jim,
Todd here, writing from Pantelis's House in Greece. The bumper arrived in
good shape. And the trip was uneventful. We had a great time in London
with you and running around Oxford and Piccadilly Circle afterwards.
Thank you SO much for meeting us, it was nice to be driven around in your
beautiful ur-q. For those that dont know Jim recently finished restoring
his 88' MB ur-quattro. Very nice car indeed with gorgeous paint, and an
wonderful interior. It was exceptionally quiet for an ur-q as well with
virtually no road noise which was a pleasant surprise.
At any rate, I had a similar Oil Pressure problem in my 4ktq conversion
and found it to be an intermittent short. However, I think hooking up an
oil pressure gauge temporarily would be helpful in determining that. I have
a number of spares at home if you cant find one locally. But mine would
jump from indicating 3-4 bar to under 1 bar and then back. Way to fast to
be an pump related problem. I re did the wiring and it went away so you may
look there first. It is odd that it only happens at a certain speed though.
Mine acted up at anytime, intermittently, only whenit felt like it.
As for the relay buzzing, I have heard this in many turbo Audi's. Namely
my 4ktq, and my friends 5ktq. I'm not sure what relays you have over there.
Is the wiring harness inverse of the US spec ur-q's. IE>...where is the
computer? Still on the Right (by your Leg as I gethered from you message)
what about the Idle Control Valve Relays? These get noisy on some Turbo
cars. Seems to be associated with fuel mixture being off on the two cars I
experienced this in.
Other than that I'm not sure. Good luck.
Oh, one last thing, Pantelis's RS-2 is FAST. Wow, makes the chipped S4's
and turbo 4ktq's I've driven seem positively slow. I recon its even faster
than Neds BEAST. By a little but its close. Hmm, love seeing that speedo
fly past, well, lets just say speeds that a chopped 5ktq or v8 would struggle
at.
l8r
  Todd
