Type 44 cabin ventilation (lack of)

Thanks everyone for suggestions on this one. I've checked out the fresh
air flap and it's fine apart from one thing. The flap and crank are
postioned so that the flap opens towards the bulkhead. the illustration in
the haynes manual shows it opening towards to the front of the engine bay.
Is it possible that this makes a difference?.
On another tack I'm toying with the idea of disconnecting the cable and
fixing the flap in a certain position. I would rather have fresh air
available all the time and not need to have the blower on 1 or above to have
the flap open. any BTDT bearing in mind that this is a non CC setup.
Cheers
rob
