Type 44 cabin ventilation (lack of)

If you're talking about the flap on the evaporator box (the one in front of
the US passenger side through which outside air flows to get to the HVAC
blower fan), all Type 44 boxes open toward the cabin. They share the hinge
with the recirculation flap used in connection with the A/C to let cooled
cabin air get cooled even more by the A/C. When the evaporator box flap is
open to outside air, the recirculation door is closed in the cabin.
