The other thing to check is, the cold start injector. You can pull it 
out and look for a clean spray pattern (please stick it in a 
container instead of spraying your ignition wires).
Noise and vibration are normal for the ISV, but I never noticed one 
getting warm. You might try a junkyard for the ISV, but they probably 
go pretty fast. Look at VWs in addition to Audis, I have exchanged 
ISVs with  an 88(?) Jetta with no problem.
