2.3 cam in 4kq.. driving impressions.

well..
got the cam for free so thought what the heck..
and while i was in there i pulled all of the lifters and cleaned them with a
good dousing of brake cleaner... let them dry, lube'd  em with mobil 1, 
squirted oil on top of them after placing them back
in the engine.. got the timing belt back on and at first had no compression...
almost freaked but then remembered that the lifters need to pump up for the 
valves to open..
so i cranked in 10 second intervals and after a few attempts the engine 
came back to life..

at first i was sceptical that this cam was going to improve power.

but i can safely say that acceleration above 3500RPM is dramatically 
increased over the stock cam..
I am happy :)
car runs to the redline  A LOT better now.. used to taper of power @5500 
RPM now pulls all the way to 6200...

it was well worth the hour i spent swapping it...

so the 2.3 cam is a reasonable upgrade for the 4kq engine..
sounds like the 2.3 engine is even better...
